New Years Eve has always been one of my favorite holidays.

It's so close to Christmas that it seems to share all the glitz and glamour without the added pressure of gifts and other financial obligations.

Since NYE is just about spending time with those you love while looking fabulous, it makes it the perfect way to close up the year with a bang!

While NYE usually goes hand-in-hand with glitter and sequins, that doesn't mean you can't look just as fabulous in satin or feathers. After all, sequins aren't for everyone!

After scouring the internet, I stumbled upon the chicest and most affordable NYE pieces that everyone can draw inspiration from.

Check them out below, and ring in the New Year looking as fabulous as possible!

A ton of you guys (not a single person) asked for this, so here it is. My ultimate holiday movie guide to getting you through the rest of the season!

This year, Ian and I set out to watch a minimum of 5 new holiday movies each week. Not only have we met that goal, but I think we’ve surpassed it! That’s why I feel somewhat qualified to present this guide.

Overall Favorite: Ghosts of Christmas Past

I am shocked that this Lifetime movie ended up being my favorite. It was a random Hulu recommendation, and I since loved the main actress when she was on Degrassi, I decided to give it a try. This movie is about an over-achieving video game designer who is notorious for ghosting people. She gets help from a co-worker, who may know more about the whole thing than she thinks, to right her wrongs all before Christmas Eve. There are twists and turns, pretty decent acting, and lots of holiday joy!

Overall Least Favorite: Mistletoe in Montana

What made this movie truly terrible is that the main theme of the movie, the two characters falling in love (spoiler alert), is so unbelievable it’s crazy to imagine it happening at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love melissa Joan Hart as much as the next, but believing that a hot, young, British guy would fall in love with this mundane middle-aged Montana ranch owner in under a week is just ridiculous. I regretfully made a couple of friends come over to watch this with me, and the only thing that felt more forced than making them stay through the whole thing was the “chemistry” between the characters.

Best New Horror: Christmas Bloody Christmas

This movie was a wild ride. It was so over-the-top and gory and hilarious and terrifying and sexy all wrapped up into one. This movie is truly the holiday gift that keeps on giving. Ian and I watched this after taking some edibles; it was truly an amazing and entertaining experience.

Best Vintage Horror: Black Christmas (1974)

This movie is an absolute horror classic. I’ve meant to watch the 2019 version for a few years now. Too bad the reviews are dismal at best.

Best Comeback: Falling for Christmas

Of course, I knew I’d love this movie. I mean, it’s the revival of Lindsay Lohan’s career! It didn’t just stop there, though. It pulled out a fun plot and a heart-warming overall vibe. Don’t skip this one!

Best Comedy: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Need I say more? If you still haven’t seen this movie at this point in your life, go watch it. Like, right now!

Best “Is It a Holiday Movie?”: Gremlins

This is a fight I will partake in until the day I die. Yes, this is a Christmas movie. So is Die Hard. FIGHT ME!

Best Nostalgia: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Just like with Christmas Vacation, need I say more?

Best Classic: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

I can pinpoint an exact moment in my childhood when I sat in the middle of my then-carpeted hallway playing with all of my Rudolph character toys and just felt absolute pure joy. Ah, the days before paying rent.

Best Non-Traditional: A California Christmas

Set during Christmas? Check. Over-the-top reminders that it’s indeed set during Christmas? Eh. Let’s just say, I forgot this was a holiday movie several times throughout watching it. But, it was a really good movie! Technically Christmas is in the name and it did mention the holiday throughout, so it counts, right? This is a good one for the scrooges in your life.

I’m so curious. What is your ultimate go-to movie for the holiday season?

Did you watch one that you think I might like?

Let me know!

Switching to a sustainable lifestyle can seem like an intimidating feat. After all, it doesn’t seem like a quick, easy, or inexpensive process. But what if it could be?

Making small changes is a great way to become more sustainable without switching your lifestyle too much, and for far less money than you’d think.

By swapping some of the items you use almost daily, you’ll make a significant impact without really having to try!

Instead of using disposable resealable plastic bags…

Switch to reusable silicone sealer bags!

Leave all the wasteful plastic baggies in the past. We've got a solution that will save you money and waste. Silicone Sealers give snacks and leftovers an airtight seal.

Reusable Sandwich Bags 8 Pack

Instead of using disposable makeup wipes…

Switch to reusable Bamboo Cotton Rounds!

Wash, use, and repeat: these Bamboo Cotton Rounds are the perfect solution to single-use cotton rounds.

Don’t let pesticides and fertilizers found in traditional cotton pollute your beauty routine! Choose organic bamboo cotton rounds for clean, waste-free self-care.

Bamboo Shoots Reusable Cotton Pads

Instead of plastic straws…

Switch to Stainless Steel Drinking Straws!

Reusable straws are eco-friendly and make it easy for you to be. These straws are made from stainless steel, are BPA-free, and will last a lifetime. Plus, they keep plastic straws out of our landfills!

3 Pack Stainless Steel Straw Set With Brush

Instead of using plastic Tupperware…

Switch to stretch and seal silicone lids!

These eco-friendly covers are perfect for bowls, sturdy and stretchable with a brilliant seal. Grips to wooden bowls, glass bowls, and plastic bowls.

Made from food-safe and sand-derived silicone, these covers are the perfect eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap.

Reusable Silicone Stretch Lids

With these four simple swaps, you can feel good knowing you’re using products that are better for you, and better for the environment!

What swaps have you made to start living a more sustainable life?

Hey guys! It's been a hot minute, hasn't it?

 Let’s get to it!

After deciding to stop thinking about it and just start this damn newsletter, it dawned on me that there are so many things I’m guilty of saying “I’ll do it eventually” to. For example, I had this parrot art print sitting around waiting to go up on my wall for two weeks. I had a vision of a similar print going up on the opposite side of the wall, but I just couldn’t find one that really wowed me. Plus, the ones that did were all around $200. That’s when I decided to simply make my own.

I went to a local thrift store, measured several different frames, found a nearly identical sized one, and took it home for only $4.99. I busted out my paint and bushes and set up on my old kitchen table that now lives in my side yard as a soon-to-be art station. (Yet another project I’ll get around to)

Not only did I feel absolutely accomplished that I actually did something I had wanted to do for a while, but I had the perfect art print I could have never found online. So, will this inspire me to finally tackle all of my other passion projects? Maybe. But at least for now, I can check one off of my list.

I’m curious, do any of you have passion projects lying around in the back of your head waiting to be brought to life? If so, what are they? Do you feel inspired to finally get started on them? Click below to let me know!

In pop culture news:

After nearly nine months together, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have called it quits. Naturally, Kanye West (sorry, “Ye”) had a lot to say.

Speaking of Kim Kardashian, she posted a weird brag on her Instagram stories about the results of her bone density test, saying she was in the 93 to 97 percentile. Ok, cool I guess? However, viewers quickly realized that math is hard for Kim and that she misread her results meaning she’s actually in the 69 to 93 percentile. Poor Kim, your bones may not be as dense as you thought, but your brain sure is.

Teresa Giudice, of Real Housewives fame, spent $10,000 on her wedding hair. Money well spent?

Lastly, Olivia Newton-John passed away on Monday at the age of 73 after a 30-year battle with breast cancer. You’ll be truly missed, Olivia. Grease will always be one of my favorite movie musicals of all time, and now I need to watch it 30 times in a row.

Let’s talk about fashion:

I don’t know about all of you, but in this post-pandemic world, I often feel like I would rather perish than have to put on a real bra. Enter the bralette: the best invention that has ever been invented. I have to admit, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of a bralette on my 38DD chest, but a size XL hasn’t failed me yet!

I basically now own half of these bralettes, and this one in particular has a special place in my heart on my chest. Hence why it’s not pictured above. I’m definitely wearing it as I type this. Did I mention that they’re all under $20?!

Featured Product:

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love-hate relationship with fake eyelashes. I can confidently say that I’ve spent 15-30 minutes at times trying to stick them to my eyelids to no avail. Thankfully, I recently discovered the Ioni individual lash extensions. I cannot funny express my absolute love and obsession with these things. It only takes one set glued to the outer corner of my natural lashes to instantly provide a perfect cat-eye look that takes virtually no effort. If you’re like me and majorly struggle with regular fake lashes, you absolutely have to try these! At around $5 a pack, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

My favorite articles of the week (so far):

1) Breakfast that’s tasty and beautiful?

2) The best Trader Joe’s snacks for your midday hangry attack.

3) For your furry best friend.

4) Getting paid $100k to eat candy?! Sign me TF up!

5) The art of doing nothing.

6) BRB, completely changing my hair right now.

7) Is it true that Gen Z is in a “sex recession”?

8) Tacobout a tease!

9) Are headbands making a comeback?

10) We all know that sick days are important, but what about hangover days?
