One of my favorite excuses to wear a giant floppy hat each year is the Kentucky Derby. Something about the whole event is just so fun and festive. I usually just watch the race on TV with my family, and enjoy a mint julep or two. This year will be no different! Will you be watching it tomorrow?

Is it odd that I absolutely hate insects in real life, but find insect printed clothing to be extremely chic? There's just something about it that I love. That's why when I saw this top online and discovered that it was under $20, I snatched it up immediately. So, what do you think about insect prints? Would you wear them?

I know I know, it may be 80 degrees in SoCal where I live, but it definitely is not in other parts of the country. I just can't help it! All the Spring and Summer fashions that have been popping up in my magazines and in stores has me so inspired to throw on bring and cheerful colors. Do not let anyone ever tell you that black, white, and grey are boring colors, especially when they're together. All you need is a mix of different patterns and textures to make an outfit really pop!

This past weekend, I finally managed to get out of town and make a trip down to Palm Springs. It was an amazing weekend filled with lots of great food and champagne. Of course, my favorite part had to be stopping at the World Famous Cabazon Dinosaurs on the way back. It wouldn't be a trip to the desert without vising these friendly-looking dinos!
