Haute Sauce: March 2015

With Winter ending and Spring beginning, I always seem to find it difficult to completely get rid of my jackets and immediately switch to bare shoulders. That's why I am obsessed with this lightweight jacket I found the other day. It's light enough to wear on a warm day, but still makes me feel covered up enough until I feel I can fully brave my Spring attire.

Dubbed the hottest print of the season, gingham is popping up everywhere. I must admit, I am not complaining! I once thought of gingham as something I wore way too much as a child, or a print reserved for Dorthy in the Wizard of Oz. After seeing so many adorable new gingham pieces, though, I cannot seem to get enough! What do you think about gingham?

I came to a sad realization today that my days of wearing adorable jackets and coats are coming to an end. Because of this, I've been wearing nothing but my jackets and coats everyday! So it might be a bit hot in the recent 70-80 degree weather, but I think it's totally worth it.

Have you ever stumbled upon something in a particular color and then fallen insanely in love with that color? Well, that's exactly what happened to me this weekend! I made my way to Target to stock up on groceries and other essentials, when I found a cotton robe in a beautiful lavender color. Ever since I purchased that robe, I can't get lavender out of my head!

For the last week, Southern California has been experiencing a heat wave that's brought us up to the 90s! Although I know we're still a few days away from the official start of Spring, it couldn't feel more like May. I officially refuse to dress as though it's still Winter!

I am definitely no stranger to pattern mixing.In fact, I do it often, because I think there is something so chic about it. I get so sad to think that it scares some people! The key to a foolproof mixed pattern outfit is remembering to pair colors in a similar color palate, that way, you won't look too extreme. This is not the time to pile seven different colors on your body!

Sometimes, I just want to be completely and utterly comfortable at work. That's why when I discovered these $12 (now on sale for $9!) tops from Target, I nearly screamed! Nothing beats comfort and nautical stripes for close to ten dollars!
