New Years Eve has always been one of my favorite holidays.

It's so close to Christmas that it seems to share all the glitz and glamour without the added pressure of gifts and other financial obligations.

Since NYE is just about spending time with those you love while looking fabulous, it makes it the perfect way to close up the year with a bang!

While NYE usually goes hand-in-hand with glitter and sequins, that doesn't mean you can't look just as fabulous in satin or feathers. After all, sequins aren't for everyone!

After scouring the internet, I stumbled upon the chicest and most affordable NYE pieces that everyone can draw inspiration from.

Check them out below, and ring in the New Year looking as fabulous as possible!

 Let’s get to it!

After deciding to stop thinking about it and just start this damn newsletter, it dawned on me that there are so many things I’m guilty of saying “I’ll do it eventually” to. For example, I had this parrot art print sitting around waiting to go up on my wall for two weeks. I had a vision of a similar print going up on the opposite side of the wall, but I just couldn’t find one that really wowed me. Plus, the ones that did were all around $200. That’s when I decided to simply make my own.

I went to a local thrift store, measured several different frames, found a nearly identical sized one, and took it home for only $4.99. I busted out my paint and bushes and set up on my old kitchen table that now lives in my side yard as a soon-to-be art station. (Yet another project I’ll get around to)

Not only did I feel absolutely accomplished that I actually did something I had wanted to do for a while, but I had the perfect art print I could have never found online. So, will this inspire me to finally tackle all of my other passion projects? Maybe. But at least for now, I can check one off of my list.

I’m curious, do any of you have passion projects lying around in the back of your head waiting to be brought to life? If so, what are they? Do you feel inspired to finally get started on them? Click below to let me know!

In pop culture news:

After nearly nine months together, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have called it quits. Naturally, Kanye West (sorry, “Ye”) had a lot to say.

Speaking of Kim Kardashian, she posted a weird brag on her Instagram stories about the results of her bone density test, saying she was in the 93 to 97 percentile. Ok, cool I guess? However, viewers quickly realized that math is hard for Kim and that she misread her results meaning she’s actually in the 69 to 93 percentile. Poor Kim, your bones may not be as dense as you thought, but your brain sure is.

Teresa Giudice, of Real Housewives fame, spent $10,000 on her wedding hair. Money well spent?

Lastly, Olivia Newton-John passed away on Monday at the age of 73 after a 30-year battle with breast cancer. You’ll be truly missed, Olivia. Grease will always be one of my favorite movie musicals of all time, and now I need to watch it 30 times in a row.

Let’s talk about fashion:

I don’t know about all of you, but in this post-pandemic world, I often feel like I would rather perish than have to put on a real bra. Enter the bralette: the best invention that has ever been invented. I have to admit, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of a bralette on my 38DD chest, but a size XL hasn’t failed me yet!

I basically now own half of these bralettes, and this one in particular has a special place in my heart on my chest. Hence why it’s not pictured above. I’m definitely wearing it as I type this. Did I mention that they’re all under $20?!

Featured Product:

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love-hate relationship with fake eyelashes. I can confidently say that I’ve spent 15-30 minutes at times trying to stick them to my eyelids to no avail. Thankfully, I recently discovered the Ioni individual lash extensions. I cannot funny express my absolute love and obsession with these things. It only takes one set glued to the outer corner of my natural lashes to instantly provide a perfect cat-eye look that takes virtually no effort. If you’re like me and majorly struggle with regular fake lashes, you absolutely have to try these! At around $5 a pack, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

My favorite articles of the week (so far):

1) Breakfast that’s tasty and beautiful?

2) The best Trader Joe’s snacks for your midday hangry attack.

3) For your furry best friend.

4) Getting paid $100k to eat candy?! Sign me TF up!

5) The art of doing nothing.

6) BRB, completely changing my hair right now.

7) Is it true that Gen Z is in a “sex recession”?

8) Tacobout a tease!

9) Are headbands making a comeback?

10) We all know that sick days are important, but what about hangover days?

I'm normally a fan of very tailored looks and less a fan of boho pieces. That's why I can't help but obsesses over this outfit. It has a strong 70's vibe, while maintaining a girly and glam vibe. I can't believe I found these pants at a thrift store for less than two dollars!

Sweater: Altuzarra for Target,  Pants: thrifted,  Boots: DSW,  Hat: Forever 21,  Bag: Dooney & Bourke,  Sunglasses: Target

I'm usually a flats only kind of girl, but I have definitely been making an exception for these adorable ankle boots! The thick heel adds a level of comfort which is essential for someone like me who is awful at walking in heels. I just wish they came in even more colors!

I'm not sure if it's solely because of my recent nostalgia caused by the new RED Valentino collection or if it's just due to the amazing relaxed and comfortable feeling the style emits, but I've been extremely obsessed with ballet inspired looks lately. There's just something about it that I absolutely love.

Whenever Fall comes along, I find myself pushing the envelope with my outfits. Even though Summer is synonymous with bikinis and spaghetti straps, I tend to dress a bit more conservatively when the weather is warmer. There's something about Fall that makes me want to take fashion risks, like these knee high boots paired with short shorts. Do you switch up your normal fashion routine when the weather starts to get cooler?

I usually only where floral print in the Spring or Summer, but when I recently purchased these pants from a Kate Spade outlet store, I just couldn't wait to where them! I paired them with a Fall staple color, burgundy, which gave the look a more season-appropriate feel. Would you wear bright florals in the Fall?

Have you ever built an entire outfit around one single hat? I did, and I couldn't be happier. I purchased this hat online from Forever 21, and have been obsessed with it ever since. I now find myself browsing for hats more and more. I think they're a great staple for Fall and Winter, because not only is it an instant hairstyle, but it can also help keep you warm. Win, win!

I've always been a huge believer in the saying "you don't need to spend a lot to be fashionable." This means that I rarely buy designer clothing, unless it's on sale, at an outlet store, or I have a coupon code (hooray for coupons!). However, once in awhile a collection will come around that just takes my breathe away, and I find myself being tempted to go into debt just to get my hands on some of the pieces. Ok, not really, but I am super obsessed with it!

I first laid eyes on the Fall/Winter '15 RED Valentino Collection this morning, and instantly became obsessed. It reminds me of a heather grey sweater with a pink ballerina on it that I purchased from Target over a decade ago. I remember when I first saw that sweater back in my high school days, and it just really stuck out to me. I believe it was part of a collection, but that one sweater became the first thing I really considered to be "my style." So in a way, this RED Valentino Collection is one part nostalgia, and another part really stinkin cute!

What do you think of the RED Valentino circus-inspired Fall/Winter '15 Collection?

Every Spring and Fall, my excitement grows in anticipation for the next Target designer collaboration. Although Spring's Lilly Pulitzer collaboration was exciting, it turned out absolutely insane. That's why I actually like it better when Target doesn't collaborate with such a widely known designer, because it gives me hope that I'll actually have a chance to purchase something (remember this?). Debuting on September 27th, Target will be collaborating with Adam Lippes, and I could not be more excited! The collection is filled with various plaid and windowpane prints, all in perfectly cozy fabrics.

But that's not even the best part! Target is completely making over their store starting in late August, and turning everything plaid! From sweaters, to dog beds, and even soda cans, you will see a wave of plaid plastered all over Target.

Check out my favorites below, and the entire plaid lookbook here!
