Living in California, it's always a gamble when you leave the house in clothes that are meant for 40 degree weather. This still applies even if it's poring down rain when on your commute! Yesterday morning, I listened to the sound of the rain outside my window and thought it would be a great idea to wear a large coat and rain boots. This almost worked out, until the sun broke through around lunch time. By the time I left for the day, it was so hot and sunny I thought I was going to melt!

I would like to introduce to you the power of thrift stores. Not that you don't already know, but still! My outfit is almost entirely made up of thrift store finds! That's right, my adorable dress and stylish jacket are both from thrift stores. I know I've mentioned before that people have told me to limit my outfits to only one thrift piece, but I say SCREW THAT! If it works, it shouldn't matter where you found it. After all, no one will ever know. Unless of course you tell them on a fashion blog, haha!

Although it's not really a huge trend anymore, I'm still obsessed with the sporty trend! I will rep it even after the point of its death. I just love the mix of sporty details with more girly pieces. How do you feel about this trend?

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: the sporty chic trend is by far my favorite trend for Spring. That's why when I found this jersey dress at Forever 21 a week ago, I knew I had to have it! The bold writing and numbers on the front give it an effortless sporty vibe, while the mesh detailing at the bottom  adds a chic feel to the whole thing. I absolutely love this dress, and the $6 proce didn't suck, either!

Sometimes it's fun to build an outfit around one accent color. That's exactly what I did here! I started with my awesome caged heels and my favorite leather pencil skirt, and decided to run wild with pink accessories. I think it turned out really fun and cute!

I was really skeptical about whether or not I could get away with wearing this outfit to work. I decided that since my job is pretty laid back when it comes to the dress code, I would just go for it! Not only was it totally acceptable, but I got tons of compliments on it from coworkers and customers. After all, a little stomach is fine when the rest of the outfit is extremely conservative. Would you dare to wear mesh to work?
