I have a confession: I do not own anything maxi. No maxi dresses, no maxi skirts, nothing! I have just never found anything maxi that was long enough to cover my long legs. The other day, my aunt showed me this dress that she had purchased, and I fell in love with the print. I was scared to try it on, because I didn't think it would fit right, but to my surprise, it did! I now have full confidence that i will find a maxi piece of my own very soon!

Lately, I've been seeing kimonos everywhere. I'm dying to purchase one, but I sadly cannot because I decided to participate in "No Buy July." That's why when I pulled out this scarf from the back of my closet, I got the brilliant idea to wear it as a kimono! It's not the same, but it has a similar affect. Plus, I didn't have to buy a single thing!

In case you couldn't tell my the above picture, I am currently craving floppy hats! That's right, I am totally and completely obsessed with them! I where them often and own quite a few, but I can't seem to get enough. These are the ones I've had my eye on for awhile now.

I don't know what it is about a fedora that makes me feel so cool, but I know that it's a great feeling that makes me want to wear one all the time! How do you feel about fedoras?

The other day, I was rummaging through racks of clothing at a local thrift store when I discovered this dress. I thought it was cute, and it fit well, so I bought it. It wasn't until I got home that I realized just what this dress is. It's a vintage Louis Féraud dress from the 1980s! Louis Féraud is a well-known French fashion designer from the 70s and 80s. I already loved the dress, but knowing its rich history makes me love it even more! It gave me another reminder of why I love thrift stores so much.

Who doesn't love a bright and colorful outfit? I know I sure do! That's why when I received these shorts from the Lookbook Store, I was so extremely excited! They have a comfortable and stretchy waistline, and the colors sure bring a smile to my face. Also, how cute are those pom poms? I just adore everything about these shorts!

If you are a frequent reader of my blog, you've probably noticed by now that I am absolutely obsessed with rompers. Well, I have found the romper to rule all other rompers! This beautiful lacy number from Lookbook Store is one of the most glamorous and gorgeous pieces I've ever seen. I wore it to a party the other night and received numerous compliments! Who doesn't love that?

I found this top at a local thrift store and didn't even wait to try it on before purchasing it. I don't know what it is about it that I love so much. Maybe it's that it's just so unique and different from any other tops that I own. Maybe it's that it looks more expensive than the dollar I paid for it. Either way, I absolutely love it and wear it all the time!

I would like to introduce to you the power of thrift stores. Not that you don't already know, but still! My outfit is almost entirely made up of thrift store finds! That's right, my adorable dress and stylish jacket are both from thrift stores. I know I've mentioned before that people have told me to limit my outfits to only one thrift piece, but I say SCREW THAT! If it works, it shouldn't matter where you found it. After all, no one will ever know. Unless of course you tell them on a fashion blog, haha!

One of my favorite things about living in Southern California, is that the sun is almost always out.  Not only do I absolutely love the sunshine, but it also makes for beautiful blog photos. When the sun is out, I definitely take advantage and bust out my camera! It makes me want to throw on my brightest and happiest colors and snap away all day long.

I know, another outfit with floral details. I can't help it, though, it's summer! Summer means lots of floral and tropical prints. At least, it does to me! I have loved this skirt from the moment I found it on a clearance rack at Target. The dark grey colors don't necessarily scream "stereotypical cheery summer print," and that's exactly why I like it. How do you feel about the overload of floral prints going on this season?

The other day, my amazing boyfriend came over and surprised me with these brand new shoes. I was so excited, I instantly threw an outfit together to match them! I wanted to showcase the beautiful colors, without taking away from the gorgeous print. Who says men can't have good taste?

There comes a time in everyone's life, that the need for a special occasion dress emerges. I know that I've been there and scrambled at the last minute, only to settle on something I don't truly love. Don't let this happen to you! I am fortune enough to have discovered an amazing online retailer, Victoria's Dress, who specializes in anything from cocktail dresses and evening dresses, to short and long prom dresses, to bridesmaids dresses, and even wedding dresses! The best part? They are extremely affordable and chic! I highly recommend checking them out. Below are a few of my picks for a very special occasion.

Lately I've noticed a new trend popping up everywhere. At first I didn't know how I felt about it, but now I can officially say I'm starting to really dig bug prints. How do you feel about them?

Welcome to Day Four of Thrift Week. This dress (long shirt?) was a total accidental purchase. I had already tried on all of my other finds and was making my way to the register, when this piece appeared out of nowhere. It was just sitting at the end of a rack of clothes as if it was saying, "Take me home, Allie!" Well, take it home I did! There isn't a tag, so I'm not sure what brand it is, but it was less than four dollars, so no matter what it was a steal!

Welcome to Day three of Thrift Week! I was thrilled when I found this particular dress because I surprisingly don't already own a white dress. I really thought I did, but when I got home with my new thrift finds, I realized I didn't! Thank goodness I bought this one. It's originally form Ann Taylor, and I scored it for under four dollars!

Welcome to Day Two of Thrift Week! This dress was an amazing find for me, because I just know it was expensive for the first owner to purchase it. It's a Barney's dress. That's right, a Barney's New York dress that I scored for less than $5! Have I mentioned how much I love thrift stores?

Hello and welcome to Thrift Week! I'm excited to announce that this week I will be featuring a new outfit each day that I found at a local thrift store. Not only does my bank account love thrift stores, but it's fun to search through all the racks of clothes to find the hidden treasures. I wasn't sure about this particular dress at first. It wasn't until after I just went for it and bought it, took it home and styled it with this beautiful matching scarf, that I truly fell in love. The floral pattern and the way the fabric hangs reminds me of something you'd see in Spain. It's simply beautiful!

I was browsing around Target the other day (shocker, I know!) when I stumbled behind the greatest thing I have ever seen. A colorful and girly Jurassic Park tank top! Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time, so I always snag merchandise when I see it. Unfortunately, that merchandise is usually targeted toward boys. That's why I was so excited when I found this beautiful top.

Happy Wednesday! I'm so excited to share with you a campaign I am newly a part of. Credit Card Insider is spreading the word about spending responsibly, and they have asked me to help get that knowledge out to my wonderful readers! For some time, I have been coveting the dress you see above. The only problem, though, is that it's from Barney's, and it's over a thousand dollars! Thankfully, I was browsing a local thrift store the other day when I found an amazing dress that in my opinion, is even more beautiful. The sheer details match that of the Barney's dress, however, it takes the cake with its beautiful display of decorative gold buttons. My dress is originally from H&M, so even if I had found it in the store, it most likely wouldn't have been more than twenty dollars, but I scored it for only five! I styled it with a matching gold belt from Forever 21 and an adorable Vince Camuto backpack. Now that's what I call responsible spending!

Splurge: Barney's New York Chiffon Dress $1,095

Save: Thrifted H&M Dress $5

Savings: $1,090!

Sometimes organizing your closet can be a pain, but other times it can serve as a reminder of amazing pieces of clothing you forgot you had. That's what happened for me the other day. I found this beautiful skirt still tucked away in the very back of my closet, and instantly pulled it out to wear. I had forgotten how beautiful it is! Has that ever happened to you?
